David T. Martula, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, is the principal and founder of Fee-Only Financial Planning, located in Hadley, Massachusetts.

Born and raised in Hadley, David attended local schools, graduating from Amherst College with a BA French. He then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Emory University. After earning his MAT, he taught for six years at the Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. He then pursued studies in business and finance, earning a Masters in Business Administration degree again from Emory University.

After completing his MBA, David returned home and worked for his family's insurance agency. Two years later he bought the business, which he ran as owner and president for eleven years. During that time, he was a member of the Board of Directors on the Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts, as well as Treasurer of the Hampshire County Insurance Board. In 1988, David sold the agency to focus solely on financial planning.

David is currently treasurer and board member of the Sugarloaf Mountain Athletic Club; former co-chair of the Steering Committee for the Town of Hadley 350th Anniversary Celebration; former co-chair of the Hadley 350th Anniversary History Day committee; Board Member-Emeritus of the University of Massachusetts Fine Arts Center; former member of the Finance Committee of the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School; and former President of the Amherst College class of 1966.
